Covenant relations within the three tribunals
Usually it is hard for a spring covenant to make itself
known among the older covenants. This is not the case with Insula
Maledictus, which was founded in the crossfire of three tribunals.
There is an agreement between Hibernian, Stonehenge and Loch Leglean
tribunals that the vis-rich Isle of Man shall belong to that tribunal,
whose magi first establish a permanent covenant there. Now the young,
politically inexperienced magi find them in the middle of heated
tribunal politics, spying and hatred.
Loch Leglean |
The general reputation of Insula Maledictus
in Scotland is a good one. The covenant is thought to be a promising
one, with talented young magi. Active covenants in the tribunal follow
the progress of the young covenant, although they have been reluctant
to give any substantial aid to them.
After the war against Whitehaven and the return from the trip to Arcadia,
the the scottish covenants have started to consider Insula Maledictus a
die-hard survivor covenant, because it still stands after countless setbacks.
Some contacts include:
|
|
Horsingas, a renegade covenant in the
borderlands between England and Scotland. Important for the young magi,
as the only quaesitor in Loch Leglean inhabits Horsingas. The relations
were largely based on the charming personality of Sir Argyle
MacBrannigan. Now that Sir Argyle is dead, it shall be seen what the
future brings.
Crun Clach, voice of the lowland covenants in
Scotland, is localized in a faerie regio. The Praeco of the Tribunal
resides here. Nelly was apprenticed in Crun Clach, hence the contact.
Agnus Coctus, a relatively reclusive winter
covenant near Edinburgh. Origin of late Sir Argyle MacBrannigan and Profanus.
Stratus Intimus, Rival covenant founded in the
north side of the island during the 20 years spent in arcadia. A summer
covenant with six magi.

Stonehenge |
Even if Insula Maledictus is unknown to most
covenants, somekeep their eye on it very closely. Voluntas and Blackthorn
definitely do, since the Isle of Man could be another political subject
on which to argue and humiliate the other.
After the fall and defeat of Whitehaven, during the time spent in arcadia,
the south half of the Isle of Man was given to stonehenge tribunal due to
political twists. In the tribunal of 1194, however, it was decided that
because Insula Maledictus was not really destroyed, the whole island
should still belong to Loch Leglean tribunal.
|
Hibernia |
The magi of Hibernian tribunal are so busy keeping
alive in their internal struggles and changing political situation, that
they paid little attention to the founding of the covenant on Isle of Man.
Not until the young magi banished a demon so powerful that it could have
taken over Ireland. Embarassed because they did not realize the danger,
they give respect to magi of Insula Maledictus, and leave the covenant
in peace.
There is too much going on on their own island (norman invasion,
mostly) that they take part in the arguing about Isle of Man. The main
contact in Hibernia is the Lombard covenant, a winter covenant in northern
Ireland. |
