Covenant Material

This page is mainly a resource for people to write about stuff in our saga. Here we have (or will have) images and artwork, background, fonts etc. for display and available for d/l to write with.

Useful material already online includes the maps, the treasury, which contains a lot of (not investigated) magical items. Our house virtues have never actually been used in game (and I'm not talking about Real Life Virtues, which never will be in game anyway).

I designed a coat of arms for the covenant, Insula Maledictus. On a blue shield there's a silver castle, topped with a wavy bar, containing three golden hands.

Coat of Arms Coat of Arms

The blue on the shield depicts the marine nature of our covenant; located on a small island, there's water all around us. The covenant contains and is our sanctum, our place of solace, peace and support. The tree hands in the bar remind us of the three founders or the three members of the High Council. (Also notable is the full helm, dating back to 12th-13th century and the correct use of colours [no more than 3, colours are not on colours nor the metals on metals]. Needless to say, I kinda liked doing it.)

In the Ars Magica books Atlas Games uses mainly two fonts. Headlines are written in Lombardic and the text with Goudy (old style). Both are available in miscellaneous-page, as well as font used in Putredus' letter, Black Chancery. You'll find Marmyadose there as well. (By the way, I just noticed that GURPS sourcebook, Celtic Myth, uses the same artwork and fonts that I have used on this site.)

Crun Clach covenant logo

This is the logo of the Crun Clach covenant, which is the largest covenant in the Loch Leglean tribunal - one of the tribunal meetings was held there (normally they are held in Loch Leglean, a mystical place in the highlands). The logo was introduced in our saga when an image of a famous magus, Varina, was seen widely around the tribunal. Maybe it will be used in other letters from the same covenant to us (it already was in one). Nihil inimicius quam sibi ipse.

Also, you might want to use this image as background to your written letters. It is supposed to look like a old, brown paper.

More will be added later, when I get them to my furry hands and have the time and dedication to upload them.
